“Life Gem” Become a family heirloom!
by Robyn Payson
Mourning Jewelry has been in existence for hundreds, if not thousands of years. Family members would take hair from the deceased and weave it into intricate patters or nestle it in a locket with a photograph or miniature portrait of their loved one. That practice has been brought into the twenty first century by a company called “Life Gem” “Life Gem” takes the remembrance piece to a whole new level. You, someone you love or a beloved pet can now become a diamond. Imagine wearing your Grandmother in a pendant around your neck. A piece of jewelry with a “LifeGem” diamond set in it can be a precious and tangible way to keep a loved one close to you.
A “LifeGem” is a diamond manufactured from carbon extracted from a portion of cremated remains or a lock of hair. Even though the diamond is created through a man made process, a diamond created by “LifeGem” is a real certified diamond.
The color the diamond emerges from the process is unique to the individual but apparently there is a way to create a wide variety of colors and sizes . Bear in mind this is an investment. A blue diamond can cost about $20,000.00 but there are other smaller diamonds in their natural shades that are much more affordable.
As only a portion of the cremated remains or a lock of hair is all that is required to create a diamond, a traditional interment is still possible.
This is a beautiful way to preserve a loved one. We can now become a family heirloom and in a way be present in the future of our families forever as precious jewelry is passed down through the generations.
The “LifeGem” website will answer any question you may have about the product and the process. I encourage you to take a look.
